Golf Fun at POS Golf J-Term!

This past week, I have been learning the game of golf and practicing with some of my classmates. I have gained a better appreciation for golf and for golfers as I have learned about the world of golf. After learning some of the basics, we went out on the driving range, chipping green, putting green, and a couple of holes to practice. In learning golf from someone, I find that you have to work well with the person who is teaching you. Golf takes a lot of patience and an open mind. I have found that in order to learn well, I have to take constructive criticism openly and willingly because that is the only way I will improve. I believe this applies also to any situation where you have to work collaboratively. Keeping an open mind and having patience also helps both parties to advance farther. I can learn much more from working with a golfer that is more advanced than me and actually listening to them with an open mind. For golf, I think this is essential and I’m excited to continue developing these skills so that I can reap all of the benefits of working collaboratively. This reflection embodies learning outcome five because through learning how to play and through practicing golf, I have demonstrated the skills for working collaboratively and recognized the benefits of working together.
