Internship Book

Since the summer, I’ve been working on an internship in which I will publish a short book. I conducted research for my book on what life lessons teenagers actually listen to and find useful, as well as what they wished were taught to them. The first section of the book will have these teen responses. The second section of the book will contain my writing about some of the topics addressed by teens. I want to give my view and what I’ve learned as a young adult to help other young adults. The book aims to help parents, mentors, and educators focus on dispensing actionable teachings that resonate with teens rather than cluttering their mental space with ineffective "noise." The book can also be useful to teens as they can see what other people their age find useful to know and they can learn about some of them through my writing. I started out by collecting my data and organizing it. Now, I’m in the process of writing the second section of my book. It’s a challenging process and takes a lot of time but it’s something that I love and that I’m passionate about so it’s worth it! This experience follows learning outcome 3 because I planned and started this project all on my own. It took some time to plan and develop ideas but once I started gaining momentum it got easier. The journey is far from done and I will be sure to make updates on the process!
