Creative Calorie Kitchen

If you read my last blog post, you would know that I am currently working on bettering my health and fitness! Last time I talked about my workout/training experiences, but health and fitness does not end there...most of it happens in the kitchen! I am working on a sustainable diet for myself that tastes delicious and is low in calories and high in proteins. To accomplish this...I must get creative in the kitchen!! This means using low-calorie substitutes for high-calorie foods that you may not have considered. The kitchen is such a fun place to get dirty and creative and try different ways of making food to get it perfect just for me. Personally, I’ve been working on a lower calorie french toast that is high in protein! I have probably tried variations of my french toast over 6 times just to see if I could make it better, and I will continue to tinker with it! I have also made my dinners creatively, for example, by substituting rice with homemade cauliflower rice or ice cream with a homemade protein ice cream. At first, working in the kitchen was a little daunting because I hadn’t worked with certain foods before and I was afraid to cook without a recipe, but it all worked out in the end and I’m just beginning my cooking journey. To make low calorie yet delicious foods, you have to be creative in the kitchen and try everything out, be brave! I have learned a lot from all of the foods that I have made successfully and the ones that I failed at making. It’s a learning process and I would consider my mindset of not being able to fail in the kitchen one of my strengths that I gained during my journey. Another strength is my creativity with what I have laying around in my kitchen! On the other hand, I could improve upon my mindset and believe in myself more and trust the process. This experience definitely demonstrated learning outcome 1 because I have identified strengths through my creative process and I have developed areas where I know I can grow and improve upon.
