Over the past couple of months, I have been working on one of my biggest art projects ever. While the actual art isn’t huge, the detail of the work took me a long time. I’ve never painted something with this amount of detail and it was a completely new experience. I have painted before so I went into this project with strong skills such as attention to detail and my ability to adapt and learn quickly. I learned a lot in the process of making this work of art because it took a lot of time, effort, and trial and error. Throughout the process, I developed strengths and faced some challenges where I could work to improve. My experience painting my tiger reflects learning outcome 1 because I was able to identify my strengths (attention to detail, patience, consistency) as well as identify my areas where I could grow (realism painting, correct proportions, color matching). I had so much fun painting this work and I’m even more proud of it! Inspired by my work, I wanted to create a word cloud that represented how I felt about this painting and how I felt while I was painting it. I felt like this was a good way to reflect on my painting process in a creative way. Below the picture of the tiger, I created a word cloud in the shape of a dragon, another figure that represents purity and power in my eyes, with words representing how I felt about the painting and the process. This actually inspired me to consider creating another paining of some form of dragon, so be on the lookout for dragon art in future blogs!
