Investment Club

Over the summer, Clark and I came up with the idea of proposing an investment A-term. We talked to Dr. Ott about our idea and she suggested the idea of creating and leading an investment club. Clark and I took the idea from there and brainstormed what investment club would entail. We created a high level schedule for each meeting and the topics which we would like to cover. Investment club meets every week on Friday after school for an hour. One challenge we ran into was determining what we wanted to cover in the club versus our proposed A-term and how they would overlap. We worked together to identify goals and areas of challenge as well as plans to overcome these challenges. Working together on this club has really helped it to be more organized and both of us have learned a lot in the process of working and planning together. A lot needs to be coordinated and working together also allows us to play by our strengths and get assistance from the other in an area where we are weaker in. Because we have different strengths and weaknesses, we are able to learn from each other's strengths. This follows learning outcome 5 because I have learned some skills that have come with working collaboratively such as balancing work, identifying each others strengths and weaknesses, and communicating effectively. I have also recognized benefits of working collaboratively.
