Market Talks

Ever since we started online distance learning near the end of my junior year, I have been attending 30 minute Market Talks organized by Dr. Quillin, my economics teacher. In these meetings, we would talk about what is going on in the market and also hear from some experts in the field on their opinions about certain topics related to the stock market. I continued going to these meetings through the summer and learned so much by talking to others and hearing everyone’s perspectives on current events and how they might impact the market and trading. Now, in senior year, I am now co-president of this club with Clark May as my partner. Together we plan and run these meetings and have a lot of fun engaging with other students and helping others to learn about happenings in the market and improve their financial literacy. We will continue these meetings throughout the year and hope to bring in some more experts for new perspectives! My commitment to this experience reflects learning outcome 4 because I have been a part of this group since the end of my junior year and through the summer, and now I am taking charge and working with Clark to continue these great meetings!
