Daily Walks

Since the coronavirus outbreak and social distancing have become a part of daily life, I have spent some part of my day, everyday, walking outside around my neighborhood with my family. Before the pandemic, I would rarely walk with my family, however, I have learned how beneficial it is to simply take a 15 minute walk with everyone. This time allows for any kind of reflection or sharing of experiences, it brings us closer as a family and keeps us from feeling lonely and isolated during these difficult times. We are able to share thoughts and ideas and get input on a variety of topics. I have also learned so much by listening to them and hearing what they have to share. Being able to walk every day undeniably follows learning outcome 5 because I learned and recognized the benefits of being outside and active together. I have also been able to refine my skills of listening and staying focused and engaged in conversations. There are so many benefits to being physically active with others and I will continue this practice for sure!
