Krav Maga 3
Krav Maga has been an ongoing activity throughout my CAS experience. Yesterday when I went to my Krav Maga class, we were doing a hardcore workout where we followed all the workouts written on a whiteboard in order. The instructors were going in and out of class but they expected all of us to do all of the workouts, even if it takes us extra time. When the instructors were out of the class, some students took this opportunity to skip the workouts they did not want to do and skipped to the end to finish early. Once a couple people did it, more and more began to do this. I could have skipped the workouts but my coach trusted us to complete the workouts and I would only be shortchanging myself in the long run. I realized that if I skipped the workouts and finished early and got caught, the coach would not trust me and may even make all of us workout twice as much as a punishment for “cheating.” So, it made no sense for me to do this for it would’ve been unethical. This experience follows learning outcome 7 because I recognized the ethics that went into making my decision on whether or not to skip the workouts to make it easier on myself. I considered the consequences of my actions and chose the option that made the most ethical sense.
